There will be no Ghanaian referee at the Africa Cup of Nations for the second straight tournament.
CAF has chosen 56 officials (20 centre referees and 36 assistant referees) for this year’s tournament in Egypt but none from Ghana same as in 2017, when no Ghanaian was selected.
Ghana in the past few years have had numerous issues with refereeing with the recent being that of the referees captured in
Anas’ expose .This could be a factor as to why no Ghanaian referee has been included in the tournament though a few of them are still having Fifa certification .
Many might have thought Referee Daniel Laryea would have been included in the list having been named in a 24 man shortlist of the elite referees seminar in Morocco and also participating in the CAF inter-clubs tourney.
